Centrica: Outsourcing

British Gas was losing competitive edge and profitability. Engaged to create collaborative Offshore Development Centre (ODC) to support flexible resourcing strategy and Agile delivery. Created offshore / onshore infrastructure model; developed knowledge transfer frameworks; vetted offshore outsourcing operations; selected vendors; set up facilities in South Africa, India and the Philippines; and created model for competitive tender process to ensure future cost savings. Succeeded in delivering ODC and immediate cost savings of £11M

Vocalink: Payments Management System

VocaLink was struggling to launch their A-Services Automation Payments Programme. Engaged to re-establish remit and execute on programme planning and delivery. Conducted resource prioritisation and secured additional funding to address resource shortfalls; gained support from key technology & banking stakeholders; led onshore & offshore development teams; and advised stakeholders on project performance, risks, issues and dependencies. Succeeded in delivering this complex programme within budget (£2M) and ahead of schedule.

T-Mobile: Data Centre Migration

T-Mobile’s data centre migration & infrastructure consolidation programme for their e-business platform had stalled. Engaged to run the migration process & handover to strategic outsourced partner. Contributed to business case and cost analysis; led team of 4 Project Managers & 40 developers; selected target infrastructure; set new security & data policies; and implemented virtualisation technology to host migrated applications & services. Succeeded in delivering new data centre & consolidated platform which was expected to deliver savings of £7M over 3 years.
